A special visitor

No surprise, the hardest thing for Scott since being admitted into hospital has been not seeing the kids. Not hugging, smooching and enjoying the wonderful chaos they provide in a day. Leigh was able to get a cuddle in while he was at OT but the older two were at school.

Since Scott’s ability to protect himself from infection will greatly diminish over the next while, we know we need to be extra vigilant about visitors and any germs they may bring with them. This includes our little guys.

After consulting with the nursing staff, we decided today would likely be the best day to have a visit from the kids before Scott was too run down. Mallory-Jane has a UTI (sorry for the over share MJ!) so she had to stay at home, but my mom brought Harrison after school.

After the initial discomfort of having a room full of people watch him respond to seeing his daddy, and being a bit overwhelmed, Harrison was just fine. In room tv? Cookies? Grape Popsicles? He settled in prettttty easily for a visit. And you could see Scott just soak him in, and get recharged.

Scott and Harrison took Betsy for a walk around the common area, ate dinner and met a few of Scott’s nurses. Harrison decided Scott’s room is his “office”, and when it was time to go, felt his visit was much too short. Home is “soo boring. The most boringest thing ever”.
