Good news

Scotts induction chemotherapy is a 7+3 program. His chemo runs continuously for 7 consecutive days, and the first three days two different drugs are administered at the same time.

He has finished the “3” portion of the process, with the most exciting part being showing off his bright orange pee to anyone that would look. So basically me and Brad.

Scott’s hematologist “Dr. L” gave us some great news today… So far, not even 72 hours in, Scott is responding better than expected to treatment. The chemo is working as it should be and counts are slowly improving.

Aside from some minor discomfort, Scott’s feeling pretty good so far – no nausea etc, and he’s managing to get a relatively good sleep at night. He’s getting to know the nurses and hospital staff, and has made friends with the ladies that deliver his meals, which has meant extra tuna sandwiches and chicken soup.

Visits and wishes from family and friends have made the days and evenings speed by.
