Day 7
If you're looking for Scott he is now comfortably set up in room 26, progressing through his last bag of induction chemo, which will be done mid afternoon. He's been in hospital for 13 days now, and its hard to believe it's been that brief. So much has happened, so quickly, and as he nears… Continue reading Day 7
A new day
Though it's a rainy day in Hamilton, Scott woke up this morning after a good sleep in brighter spirits. He'll be put on his last bag of chemo this aft, and is looking forward to being disconnected from Betsy soon. Grey skies and drizzle - a perfect day for some football.
Meh.
In the interest of keeping this space honest, I will share that this was not an easy day for Scott. His sleep last night was interrupted often and he started the day with a fever. Antibiotics and platelets were administered, and additional testing was done to figure out if the fever was being caused by… Continue reading Meh.
Great news and a change of address

We reiterate this lesson often, sharing with them when they have done something that fills our bucket, in hopes of… Continue reading The nicest thing in the world is knowing someone cares.
Good news
Scotts induction chemotherapy is a 7+3 program. His chemo runs continuously for 7 consecutive days, and the first three days two different drugs are administered at the same time. He has finished the "3" portion of the process, with the most exciting part being showing off his bright orange pee to anyone that would look.… Continue reading Good news
Keep Calm and Win For Scotty
Scott's rec volleyball team showed their support last night, as they battled for the Average Joes championship title. Congrats on the win!
A special visitor
No surprise, the hardest thing for Scott since being admitted into hospital has been not seeing the kids. Not hugging, smooching and enjoying the wonderful chaos they provide in a day. Leigh was able to get a cuddle in while he was at OT but the older two were at school. Since Scott's ability to… Continue reading A special visitor
Update
On Tuesday December 1, Scott was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. For the past couple months, Scott has been saying how he's felt "off" and run down. We thought it may have been due to a hectic work schedule or keeping up with the kids. He came down with the flu a few weeks ago,… Continue reading Update
