Pretty impressive stuff going on here.

Bright and early this morning Jeff checked into the hospital’s Oncology Day Services ward where over the course of the next 6 hours his stem cells will be collected and prepared for tomorrow’s transfusion. Here’s a video of the machine working away separating out the stem cells from his blood. Jeffs blood is being drawn out from one arm and transfused back into his body through the other arm once the separation is complete. The bag with the salmon coloured product in it is the stem cells!

 

 
It is an impressive process, and I am once again amazed with medical science. Jeff is doing well, with his wife Shelby keeping him company as he tries to get comfortable and fight a case of boredom.
