All things considered, today has been pretty good so far. Thanks to some antibiotics, the infected area on Scott’s head seems to be getting better, causing him less pain and allowing him to rest a bit more comfortably. Same goes for his infected thumb, which was quite swollen yesterday.
His counts have really taken a nose dive overnight and he is basically wiped out. Transfusions will likely start happening over the next day or so as his platelets are very low along with his red blood cells.
Since he’s not getting a lot of quality sleep at night, he tends to be napping through the day. But at least it helps him pass the time.
There was an outbreak of norovirus at the kids school, and Mallory-Jane fell victim last Saturday night. Leigh has also been under the weather. To reduce the risk of catching anything, and being unable to visit Scott, our babies were swept off to Nana’s, where they have been since. They are feeling fine now, but we can’t take the chance of them getting sick again so keeping them out of school this week is our best option. Though Zoo visits, play dates and a lot of fresh air and sunshine are recharging them, I really miss their faces. But their mini vacation from home has meant I can stay at the hospital through bedtimes, guilt free, which is a good thing while Scott is feeling down in the dumps.
One day closer….

We have missed their beautiful little
faces this week, and can’t wait to see both Harrison and Mallory-Jane on Monday! 🙂
