I haven’t posted an update in a couple of days because between chemo ending and tests tomorrow Scott has just been dealing with the effects of the treatment.
His hair is really starting to fall out, which he’s unfazed by, but it’s annoying for him as it sheds onto his pillows and floor. He has a rash on various parts of his body, which is irritating but manageable with a cream and antibiotics.
He is going for a chest X-ray this afternoon, to make sure his lingering fever isn’t a symptom of an oncoming cold or flu.
On Monday Scott will get his next bone marrow biopsy to confirm that treatment has killed the leukaemia blast cells in his marrow (red and white along with it). Kristine explained that they want the biopsy to be “empty” – showing that the chemo was effective in killing all the cells. From his next biopsy in another couple weeks, is when they will see that the cancer was eliminated from his body and that he is in remission.

You’re not biased. That is one handsome guy on the left😊
