We just finished up a meeting with Kristine, to regroup after her time off.
Since Scott’s stubborn neuts are still at .2 the plan is for him to receive the Neupogen injection later today to get those guys moving.
If his team sees an upward trend happening over the next couple of days, then he should be able to come home for a visit. It’s now less about getting the neuts to .5, and more about the trend.
His biopsy will happen tomorrow. The thinking is that the Neupogen will work overnight and they will have a more robust sample in the morning. If the Neupogen does not work as expected, they will still proceed with the biopsy, as gathering more information is crucial for continuing with treatment planning. They will go for another Neupogen injection tomorrow as well.
Biopsy results will tell us if A) Scott is in remission, which will involve consolidation chemo over a few months or B) lukaemia blast cells are still present, requiring reinduction chemo and another 4-6 week hospital stay.
Outstanding cytogenetic testing results will tell us whether regardless of biopsy results, a bone marrow transplant is needed.
Now for some good news: so far Scott’s blood work has not shown evidence of blast cells. This does not mean they aren’t in the marrow, but it is reassuring that they haven’t appeared at this point.

Lots of important stuff going on for you. Our fingers are crossed that all progresses well xox hugs
